Pyrat XO Rum is produced from nine different Caribbean rums that are blended and then aged up to 15 years in used American sweet oak barrels.
The squat Pyrat XO rum bottle shape is inspired by the typical design of rum bottles kept by pirates and ship captains in the 19th century.

Nice but nothing special. Very light, maybe too light as I found not much in the body department!
Forna gold rum it is good. Pretty smooth. I wouldn't turn it down if offered!
My very first meet with this Bottle was “just wow”. After 2 years i tried it again but that was like “what????” I wanted more. Good.
Don't get me wrong - its not a terrible sipping choice. I find the taste little too plain, bit simple and heavily overwhelmed with citrus accents. Letting it breathe helps.
too overrated. Too alcoholic, too simple, too young. I couldn't find any proper information about it's real age, to my guess, 4/5 of the spirits were maximum 3-4 years. So, I wouldn't recommend anyone to buy it.
They missed the mark with this one. Pretty heavy on the Citrus, but too oily to be balanced within its realm. More syrup than flavor. It has been incorporated into a few of my tiki cocktails, but with a balancing force, such as a young white rum. In this way it can be useful, but as a sipper its not for me.
An engineered rum, a good rum to start to get to know the rum world
"Had wine not been the drink of choice 2,000 or so years ago, Jesus would have probably turned every drop of water on earth into Pyrat Rum XO Reserve"

"it’s like an orange Chuck Norris came through the joint, belted out a roundhouse kick to the face..."
"Pyrat XO rum review by Lance from RumConnection"
A very definite hit of oranges.
"The orange taste is very much at the forefront and the burn leaves behind a bitter tang of orange peel."
Try to get a well lit shot from the front of the rum label

I did a blind taste test between this and the Pyrat Cask 1623, neither of which I had tried before. One smelled like an orange rum, the other like an orange liquor. This was the orange rum. This tasted better to me.
