Much smoother than the XO. Certainly one of the better rums out there.
This tastes pretty similar to XO and it's triple the price. Always nice to add to the collection though. Since it's so expensive I take a nice sipper shot everytime my hockey team wins a game.
This is a decent rum, but for my taste the bourbon barrel aging seems to overpower the rum flavor a little more than I like. Smells and tastes of bourbon, oak, caramel, with just a touch of vanilla. Pretty smooth, and if you like bourbon aging, you might enjoy this even more than I did.
Compared to the version XO , coffee has disappeared and is replaced by a more complex rum, more robust . Adolescence gives way to maturity and if alcohol is present , there is nothing private in this rum of a certain aromatic richness.
I bought this rum because I liked the XO so much. The bottle and cork pledge premium but it somehow lacks the well balanced flavors that make the XO great.
A nice looking bottle that comes in a cheap paperbox (picture).
When you first smell the rum you find it a bit sticky but when it rests for a few minutes you get a nice smell of fruit, honey and oak.
The taste is a bit sweet with vanilla, oak and spice. You also sense some oak and spice on the quite long aftertaste.
I think this rum nice but a bit overpriced.
Nice, unique taste to it. Can identify banana, vanilla and cocos.
Pleasant alcohol burn to it.
After a while this rum became even nicer, changed my score from an 8 to a 9.
Try to get a well lit shot from the front of the rum label
