Kraken Black Spiced Rum was first introduced by Proximo Spirits in 2010 . The dark rum is infused with 11 βsecretβ spices, caramel and other natural flavors.
The rum gets its name after the mythical sea creature 'The Kraken'. As legend has it, this terrifying creature attacked ships at sea during the 18th and 19th centuries - possibly for all the rum on board.

Its a good recipe rum, and by that I mean holiday egg nog etc, but I wont do it as a sipping rum with my cigar.
A good drink
Flavour are all there and could be a little less sweet but a very nice drink
Good rum, enjoy it with a coke or can sip neat over ice
Great bottle, dark color is menacing. Strong menthol/medicinal taste. I actually enjoy sipping it. But it goes very well with Ginger beer and lime.
Enjoyed with coke mainly. Prefer the flavour to many other dark rums.
Well presented bottle and story. Definitely one I put near the front to show off. Always lots of interest in the Kraken!

Smoothness of this rum is unbelievable. Many reasons to drink it. Sipping is the best way to enjoy it.

Great packaging and branding, it's a rum I want to love, but I don't find the spice flavour works for me, it has a slightly chemical taste to it that I can't put my finger on. I like it fine as a mixer but not really enjoying it as much as a straight drink.

This rum is meant for mixing and not to be sipped. Good for a rum and cola.

Kraken is a fairly polite sipper for me. The sweet vanilla and caramel taste is pretty much what I look for when I want to sip some rum. I do like a bit more attitude from my rums usually though. There isn't a harsh bite on the finish at all. I found it to be a very polite and smooth rum for sipping. There isn't a lot of depth to the flavor but a dash of water helps to bring out what there is. No bold spices to speak of. It's pretty smooth honestly. Not much burn at all. There are rums I like better, but I do like Kraken quite a bit.
