I had this side by side with the Angostura 1824, as they are both priced similarly (this costs just a little more).

This has more oak than the 1824, and is slightly dryer as a result, but it is still sweet.

Smells and tastes of molasses, oak, honey, and spice. Between this and the 1824, I'll give the ever so slight edge to the 1824, as I like sweeter less oaked rums.

But this is another fine rum by Angostura!

Well balanced taste with a long and crisp finish. Rich mahogany color with bronze highlights. Sweet aroma of bananas and dried fruits.

Color....dark bronze
Taste....slight burn but satisfying once swirled. Hints of rum and more rum. Authentic rum flavour not too sweet but in no way bitter. Great as a mixer or straight. If drunk straight recommend little or no ice. Mixes well with coca cola and LLB (lemon lime and bitters)

The maestros of the Angostura again prove what they can. Very spicy, sweet & fruity top rum.

My first reaction to this rum was that it had so much tropical fruit flavor that it's practically its own cocktail. Not too sweet, not too much oak. A lovely new offering from the House of Angostura, of which I am an ardent fan. The best of their regular line, in my opinion, though I still am fond of other smaller-edition independent bottlings. The flavor here is very compelling, and worth the effort of obtaining a bottle.

What a Great Rum. Smells like the 1824, but taste like Honey on your Tongue!

At first I thought it was a little sweet but after some more tasting I feel this is a big step up for their 1824 well worth a try.

This version JUST appeared on the market, and its better as the 1824 version in my opinion. Oaky, spicky, not sweet (i prefer sweety rums) but very nice. Try it and judge yourself
