Fairly smooth, but the flavor just isn’t my favorite. Slightly on the dry side.
Really is just an average Rum. Joins my list of 7s and does not stand out from the crowd...
I really don't get this! Doesn't taste like the reviews at all to me. It's like a combination of Reimonenq and Havana Club. I don't know what happened in the 15 years but it's only on the finish that I can detect oak.
The predominant smell and taste is something floral and citrus. Mostly it reminds me of Cuban rum but weird and slightly artificial like Reimonenq. If I try really hard I can get the oily notes.
As you can probably tell, I'm not impressed! With Caroni gone, is this all the Trinidadians can look forward to? Bless 'em.
J aime beaucoup ce type de rhum, il est doux, de couleur foncé, arôme et goût de chêne, au nez on sent le fruit sec et banane. Bien équilibré et finale longue.
I expected more from this. Not as smooth as it should be. But def has a premium taste to it.
Quality product, complex, but the note is mine as this is less to my taste. Very cigar-y, almost overpowering, alcohol fiinish strong. A bit bold, if not harsh.
Try to get a well lit shot from the front of the rum label

I had this side by side with the Angostura 1824, as they are both priced similarly (this costs just a little more).
This has more oak than the 1824, and is slightly dryer as a result, but it is still sweet.
Smells and tastes of molasses, oak, honey, and spice. Between this and the 1824, I'll give the ever so slight edge to the 1824, as I like sweeter less oaked rums.
But this is another fine rum by Angostura!
