Sampled the Capovilla PMG Marie Galante white rum and was rather surprised as I did not expect it to taste so good (for a white rum). Still not what I look for in a rum but this one was OK.

This is an decent agricole, but imho it falls a little short of the lower priced Clement agricoles.

Smells and tastes of an agricole with a fair amount of brine. Hot at 56%abv, but drinkable straight. Good, but as far as agricoles go, I prefer the Clements.

I had Capovilla at a rum tasting a few months ago. The best white rhum (French West Indies) I've had so far, but really that's not saying much. It was smooth and you could taste a hint of sweetness. I drink it straight up, so I can't really say much about it's cocktail diversity. It seems like it would be a good after dinner drink to complement with a nice dessert.

At $100 a pop, don't go out there buying a bottle unless you like rhum (or grappa for that matter because it taste similiar), but do go somewhere to taste it, you may be quite surprised like me.

Dry, salty and canโ€™t be drunk on its own for sure. but it is worth the try if you are in Guadeloupe. would not waste the money on the bottle (thats my opinion anyway)

Nose: hot, briny, slightly funky.
Palate: suuuuper salty.
Finish: short.

You've gotta be into the brinier agricoles to go for this one. It's fine, but it's challenging.
