smooth aroma of brown sugar. Taste is not particularly complex, but smooth and decent. 80+

Truly an incredible rum. Should never touch anything but your lips - no ice or anything else. Wonderful flavor, smooth and delicious.

Was mildly surprised by this rum. Admittedly not an Agricole fan but this is quite good. Burns a bit at the start but gains complexity longer it sits in the glass. Hints of butterscotch and caramel then a 'woody' ending. I agree with others this is perfect for a winter night by the fire.

This one and the Reserve du Domaine both have the typically French taste. Dry, not very sweet, warm in the chest. Makes one think of Cognacs and Armagnacs.

I like sweeter rums. This has a little too much cognac aging, and though it has notes of sugarcane, I find it a bit on the dry side.

Smells and tastes of oak, pepper, cognac, caramel, sugarcane, and cinnamon. A touch of sweetness, but a little too dry for me to call this a great rum.

I could have gone with an 8 rating and debated it. It is slightly sweet but not overly or artificially so. Just a hint of oak and overall no strong nose or flavors that dominate. It's an easy rum to drink WITH an ice cube or two, or a little bit of a mixer but it's not rich in flavors. Still nice to drink.

The box is beautiful. The bottle is opaque, so you cannot see the color of the rum. I think the screw top cap was the final kicker that dropped it down from an 8 to a 7. It was close but there are just better at better prices and the screw cap just killed it for me. I rarely upload pictures but will try tonight as the box gives you a much more pleasant impression than the bottle and maybe the liquid!

Great rum and I'd drink it anytime. I'd recommend it if you want a slightly spicy oaky flavor. By spicy I mean in in the sense of a spicy oak in a slightly peaty scotch and not "spiced rum".
