A. H. Riise Non Plus Ultra Very Rare

Noget sød og fyldig/fed, let tonet med orange, noter af marcipan. Fin oplevelse.

Tager man den søde smag ud, så er dette dog stadig en god rom. Og flasken i sig selv er et køb værdig.

Very strong and sweet taste, in my opinion best on the rocks.

Sweet - so smooth, but still with a lot of taste, long taste

Tastes like one of those chocolate pralines that you feared of getting in your mouth when the box was almost empty. The flask though is probably one of the most beautiful I've seen. If you're a fan of those horrible pralines you will probably love this one.

I've been told, Riise rums are very sweet. So, this one is. And is not.

First in the nose: tobacco and a bit of vanilla.

Mouth: Actuelly and really at first very sweet, but then dark chocolate and oak set in. And finally this rum lasts and lasts almost forever.

This rum has a strong nose, with sweet molasses, spice, and orange. Taste is sweet, with spice, molasses, caramel, vanilla, and orange. The 42%abv is nice, as I believe it amplifies both the nose and the taste. Reminds me a little of Papas Pillar, without the heavy maple and with a more organic rum flavor (I prefer this). Though I love sweet rums, this is borderline too sweet, though it is certainly very good.

Nose: a whole bunch of spices, namely cinnamon, and somewhat herbal
Taste: mouthfilling, orange marmalade, quite complex
Finish: medium long

I really dont like Riise rums. But this one is actually drinkable. Still very sweet, but with more complex notes than the orange and sugar stuff, you usually get from Riise. But don't buy it, if you hate the other Riise rums.
