First of all, let me say that I prefer my coffee without sugar. This smelled like a decent coffee, without any sugar added.

However, I was disappointed with the taste. Came across as bitter, without the slightest hint of rum (or cream). Totally a dark coffee drink. Also, a bit weak for my personal preference at 30%abv.

Another reviewer said this was intended as a mixer. Perhaps they're right, but I rate rums based on their taste straight. If you want a really good coffee rum, try the Koloa Coffee.

Wow. I love this rum. While I perfect this simply on the rocks, I've used it as a substitute for Kaluha in all instances, with perfect results. I have to admire a true coffee made rum, not some of the "flavoring added" stuff from the big guys..... Wonderful quality here....

By far my favorite flavored liquor, incredibly smooth and ease to drink.

What beats a good cup of java? Taildragger Coffee Rum that's what. So smooth & flavorful I have to resist having one in the morning.

The Rum is flavored heavily with a great coffee flavor. The aroma is almost all coffee. This is Rum designed to be added, a mixer (although a few at a recent tasting loved it over the rocks), but what a great foundation! The flavor is clean, the after taste is very pleasant and lasting. I've had a couple of coffee flavored rums and other liquors, this is superior!
