Bacardi Superior

If you’re looking for a room that will act as a vodka replacement, look no further. Bacardi light is much more flavorful than vodka. But, when I think rum, I don’t think vodka replacement. I don’t understand why Bacardi runs this rum through a filter, to purify it. The fact that it is clear has no appeal to me personally. However, you could do much worse in the liquor world, and even the rum world. Do a blind taste test sometime and you may be surprised. Personally I’ll take Ron Del Barillito or Havana Club (the Cuban varietal) anytime, but Bacardi has its place.

My favorite rum for mixing drinks, no added flavors or sugars. Makes tasting the fruits it’s mixed with more enjoyable.

I won’t buy this again for a long time. But, in a pinch it is preferred to most big brands.

Good for mixing some drinks, but not very drinkable alone

Great mixer. Strawberry daiquiris mixed with this was my point of entry for rum. Anyone that rates this as bottom-of-the-barrel rum is a moron. It's actually one of the better values out there considering it isn't sugared down like a lot of "premium" rums. That said, I doubt I'll be shipping it any time soon, but the characterization by some cranks of Bacardi Superior as being naught better than drain cleaner is undeserved and hyperbolic in the extreme. Some people really need to get a grip.
