The worst rum I've ever drunk. I think it's only good for cakes
I drank it in Austria nearly 30 years ago, and bought a small bottle in memory of my teenage. Well I forgot we sank it with coke. Its smells like paint thinner, why would you drink that? Even mixed? I will use it to fire up the next BBQ.
Made from sugar beets. Good for cooking or for mixing in homemade Jagertee.
Rated 3 for it serves a purpose during cooking but not advised for drinking pure or in the usual cocktails.
Iron a Okena rulez!
I'm surprised by the very low rating. Is it the sweetness, or simply the reputation of inlander rums being "fake" rums? As far as I know, Stroh makes their liquors from sugarcane nowadays. This may not be the best rum to ever grace a supermarket shelve, but it's a decent drink at a fair price. Not too great for sipping, the vanilla and cinnamon notes are not for me, but it works in sweet cocktails.
I was taken aback by the smell once opened but after a short while it wasn’t so offensive. The taste was shocking but after a few moments on my pallet it was satisfying. Not a rum as I know it but it could certainly raise the spirits at a party.
So, shots in an Austrian bar. When in Rome and all that. Got to try it.
Industrial alcohol and colouring. Had to force it down
Try to get a well lit shot from the front of the rum label

Not entirely to my taste, but quite unique that there is something positive here as well. I just don't know exactly what.
