I just tasted the 25 year old sibling. They are very similar, but the 30 year old is a bit better, a bit more, a bit smoother. Also little caramel and vanilla. It is not too sweet but nice at the palate. It is long lasting. Great stuff, but a bit expensive.
I bought this one as a gift for a good friend and as a good friend he opened it and shared it :-)
This one is a real joy in the nose and the mouth. Perfect sweetness, some oak, molasses... a little caramel... just amazing on the same level as the opthimus 25 year with whiskey barrel finish!
This is one of my top 3 rum. Simply a Perfect rum.
One of the finest rum i have a drank. Exceptional aftertaste, smooth, good balanced, sweet, to sweet, exclusive notes. In one word ,, Sublime"!
My first Centenario. At the Tallinn airport in Estonia there is a relatively new and fantastic wine bar. They have a huge selection of some nice vintages as well as Rums, Gins and Whiskeys to taste.
I almost liked this Centenario but looks like that someone has been adding way too much sweetness into it for my taste. Sometimes this seems to be a issue with these aged Rums. I can't deny it, I do like more the sweet and oaky ones than totally dry ones, but this was even too much for me.
sweet rum. very sweet rum. very mild. very soft.
creamy, some leather, some fruity notes, some smoke in the background. a little bit of tobacco.
boring rum.
My first tasting was in France, then again at Rumfest London 2016. It's a seriously beautiful rum with a butterscotch nose and sweet taste with hazelnut, slight oak, and vanilla. Ends with a loud floral finish that stays almost too sweet. I could easily sip this all night - MUST TRY!
I bought today a Diplomatico Ambassador and a Centenario 30. After being heavily disappointed with the first one, I have hope in expensive stuff again. Very good bargain at 130 .- (swiss francs).
After trying the diplomatico, the absence of alcohol in nose and taste is almost chocking. Perfectly balanced and as sweet as it gets whitout being "kitchy". Nice development, decently long aftertaste. The only problem I can think of is that the bottle won't last long in my cabinet :/
Try to get a well lit shot from the front of the rum label
