Bacardi 8-Year is a blended rum, filtered using the Bacardi-pioneered charcoal filtering system and aged for eight years.
This rum was not released to the public until 1995, when the first limited edition Bacardi 8 was sold with a sherry oak finish in a Baccarat crystal decanter. Despite a price tag of $400 per bottle, the rum was hugely popular and led to the larger release of the blend without the collectors' features and price.

This is one tasty rum! It is my go to rum for tiki drinks when you need an aged puerto rican rum. Ok for sipping!

From all alternatives created by Bacardรญ Family, this one is my favorite. Perfect for neat sipping due to marvelous notes on tropical fruits, oak and sweetness on palate. You can mix it but it will be a crime; just sip and enjoy.

No complexity, watery, alcoholic smell and taste. Not sipper but maybe a mixer.
Very Smooth, great flavor on the rocks or neat. An all around great rum at an affordable price

Has a weird smokey after taste. I do not like it very much.

Ok as a sipping rum but not super smooth. Great with a touch of water, sparkling water with twist of lime or a bit of ginger ale.

I like the smoothness and I drink the in the evening trough out the week.
