Plantation Barbados 5-Year

Went in to the local shop to pick up another bottle of the Kirk & Sweeney and was persuaded to try this. Similar but different in all the right ways. Delicious especially after an ice cube is dropped in. Later Tried the 20th Anniversary XO and have found true love with that one. Nice work Plantation!

Vom Alter her mag man nicht viel von diesem Rum erwarten, aber er überraschte mich positiv.
Sehr angenehmer Rum den man auch wunderbar pur genießen kann. Ich trinke ihn allerdings lieber mit Cola. Der Caramell Geschmack ist bestimmt nicht jedermanns Sache, aber ich mag einfach die Leichtigkeit dieses Rums.

Nice light golden brown color. Sweet caramel aroma. Smooth sweet caramel tones smooth going down. A must for those who have not tried it.

I found this a little heavy on the vanilla.

This is something to try. As far as i have tasted Plantation rums, this is the best value rum. It is bit too sweet but really nice on the rocks. If you have tasted on Plantation you have tasted them all, if we talk about aged rums.

22 g/ltr of added sugar according to the Swedish national list. Despite having half the sugar of El Dorado 12 yr, it seems sweeter to me. Still a nice rum for $15 I paid for it, with a decent robust flavor that is not overwhelmed by the added sugar.

This rum is great for shots as it is very light, mild,sweet, with obvious hints of vanilla. This rum gave me a slight hangover so it must have artificial chemicals/additives in it to enhance flavor.
