This is a fantastic rum, the nose is complex, the flavor is unique. It’s smooth and delicious. Can’t wait to see more Mexican runs hit the market.
Rick states. “Reminds me heavily of a clarin. Pretty decent but raw. Big vegetal and olive brine nose with plum and blackberry. Hints Reminds me heavily of a clarin. Pretty decent but raw. Big vegetal and olive brine nose with plum and blackberry. Hints of red fruit and honey on the tongue. Ends with tobacco of red fruit and honey on the tongue. Ends with tobacco”. His comments spot onto me. Will be buying another bottle.
Very much in the clairin camp this - Sajous in particular.
It's briney and slightly sour, and vegetal, and it has that somewhat overpowering smell that quickly fills the room abd attacks your senses.
Pretty smooth with it though. I find it much more drinkable neat than most clairin, or most white rum for that matter.
Particolare e interessante
This stuff is so much fun! Grassy, kero, crystalised sugary and buttery aromas fun! One glass will keep you occupied as long as like tasting new flavours. I discovered that, for my tastes, its too much for a Daiq (half and half with something else would probs be great!). Very happy to have it in the cupboard for the adventurous!
From our home stash, first discovered by our household in San Antonio TX in February 2023, lost the notes so catching up now 6/4/2023
Color: clear
Aroma: yeast, bread, yum
Flavor: just so very delicious. Grass, yeast, makes me want to eat a piece of pizza.
Vůně: Olivy, kvašáky, sůl, "trnkový kvas s aj peckama", s nádechem kresolu, citrusů a nahnilých banánů.
Chuť: Olivy, slivovice, slaná s lehce benzínovým nádechem, s hořkosladkým, až tabákovým, dlouhým závěrem.
Nutno pít po malých dávkách (1cl) ! Nebo vás to zabije ;)
Olives and cane in nose. Good balance of cane sweetness, burn and oaky finish.
Try to get a well lit shot from the front of the rum label

This a new agricole-style rum hailing from Oaxaca, bottled at 54% ABV. It opens with a hugely briny nose redolent of manzanilla olives. It’s fairly grassy as well, so agricole lovers will not be disappointed. The palate is more muted—still briny, but well-balanced by a mild sweetness. It’s quite interesting, but that nose is a challenge. Reminded me of St. George Rum Agricole.
