Great Motto, and some great tasting Rum ! Sure it's sweet and maple flavored but straight up or on the rocks it never starts tasting bad or overbearing. Smoooooth all the way. Modeled after the real most interesting man in the world this is good stuff, the story and the packaging are outstanding. Even without a box would make a great gift. I wonder if it would fit in a real canteen belt holster ? This is going to look great on my bottle wall, I just wish the compass on the top was real. Watching the Super Bowl, but I'm not a spectator !

First impression is solid. Color is a nice caramel color. Aroma is sweet with nice maple notes. First sip had a strong alcohol burn. I was not happy so I let it sit and breathe for about 15 minutes. Boy did it change. Each sip was better than the last. Mildly sweet but complex in a good way. Everything I look for in an affordable top end sipping rum. Perfect with a single ice cube.

Most everyone has already stated the obvious about the strong maple, and vanilla flavors, but the taste, to me, is different. Definitely caramel and molasses, and not to strong of an alcohol burn considering it's 43%. Definitely a repeat though!

Sweet, good, with a lot of coffee flavor and some chocolate. Wonderful to sit and sip on.
Delicious combo of caramel with a hint of black pepper. This is my go-to when I want to make sure I'm going to enjoy a glass. Super smooth and just sweet enough.

I am relatively new to Rums. At first taste it was really dark and strong. After the first glass (straight no ice) I really came to appreciate how complex and warm this Rum is. Its sweet and has a vanilla after taste that isn't strong, its just there. I can't stand rums that taste like syrup and I don't feel that this does. When I mix this with Coke I don't feel like this overpowers or kills the overall taste. This is a solid Rum, great straight, or with Coke. I have done a couple of mixed drinks with it and LOVE the flavor that this brings to the drink.

Nice dark amber color. First impressions is a strong caramel aroma. This rum was very smooth with a nice chocolate taste.
Sweet a little spicy, yet with slightly bitter coffee notes.
"There is a fair amount of orange peel or marmalade like bitterness, especially on the finish and the aftertaste. ."

Was travelling through the US and went into this whole in the wall liquor store and came across the beautiful bottle. So I bought it on a whim not expecting much. Wow what a surprise the flavour is smooth and warm and really easy to drink
