First time with a Cuban. Very Smooth. Rocks and a lime with Tortolla in the background
A nice brown gold color with a fine fragrance.
When sipped, i tasted the sweetness of roasted Bananas with a hint of Tobacco. The taste of smoke in the afterburn was very special to.
Heavily complex to sort all those aromas.
Im kinda a beguinner in drinking rum by itself so im still studying this rom.
A bit to much alcohol taste. It`s spicy and that i like. But not the best!
I had this bottle for quite a while in my collection, but at first, I found it to be a bit too strong for my taste. Nowadays I can fully appreciate it! A very good rum with a strong character and a magnificent bottle!
Allso one of my favorite. better than Anejo Reserva.
Quite strong on alcohol and taste, not much sweetness. Could be good for people liking whisky
It smells of apricot and peaches.
"Well blended and well-balanced spirit that it’s smoothness shines through. There is very little roughness or aggressive spirit tones when sipped."
Try to get a well lit shot from the front of the rum label

Last February (2016) we enjoyed our 3rd trip to Cuba, visiting a different area this time (Santa Maria/ Ensenachos). Havana club is a great mixing rum bar none. Seeking to find a higher quality sipper, most kept pushing me toward the Santiago de Cuba. I did try (and buy) but found it paled in comparison.
the HC Seleccion is one of the best examples of Cuban rum, at an outstanding price point. I did return home with a bottle in the sleeve (tip: best price was at the airport store), along with a S de C 12yr. I should have brought 2, as I'm now badgering friends who are travelling to Cuba to bring me another.
Easy to sip a few, perhaps not as smooth as others in the next price category, but none the less its' still an enjoyable spirit. Medium body with mild tobacco leaf and herbal notes, a little dark chocolate and hints of molasses.
