Nose: Very “rummy” and slightly grassy to start, then comes plenty (a shovel load) of caramel and some vanilla, fresh oak and some stone fruits (apricot/nectarine/peach). This reminds me of some younger high rye bourbons like Old Granddad. There are some cigar leaves, wooden boxes, cedar, and a touch of freshly brewed Colombian coffee. Woody spices such as nutmeg, cinnamon and clove appear but in quite a mellow manner.

Palate: Medium mouth-feel, spirity, semi-sweet (cask sugars). Quite a spicy delivery (that high rye bourbon again), caramel, toffee, vanillas, touch of leather, mixed nuts and some smoke/char. As with the nose there are some mild baking spices and a big squeeze of lime juice mid-palate – get’s really quite zesty and lively.

Finish: Medium. Quite drying, tart with green apples, apricots, limes and buzzing spicy oaks. There are some musty, dusty sacks (that’s good by the way), cigar smoke and plenty of caramel as it trails off with more spices prickling.

Not bad at all, but just go for the 7 year old if you have the choice.

Very good rum, and not to strong alcohol flavor for me. Very nice as a sipper!

I don't mind the higher proof spirits straight but they need to have balance and this doesn't. Ethanol burn through and through overpowering what flavor is present

Too dry for me, alcohol is very present with oak aroma but I can't define more aroma. Not for me.

The bottle looks like a premium version of the standard Havana Club bottle, it has a quite thick glass botton and a stopper made of granulated cork with a plastic cap. However it feels not such premium as it seems to be intended for.
The rum has a brown/copper colour, a fruity and slightly sharp smell, combined with oak. Quite a clear, full flavour. Vanilla, oak and caramel, together with some harsh leathery flavours and ripe fruits. The sweetness is only subtle and not as present as in other aged rums, thus the alcohol is more present on the palate (which is 45% per sip). Finally, the taste somehow resembles that of aged cognacs.

This one is a ok rum but nothing more. Havana Club is one of the biggest producers of rum and also one of the most overated. They should keep their business for making longdrinks

But it is still not close to a rum like QRM, A.H. Riise Navy etc.

Smooth and slender, but less so than I expected. It's only mildly different to the 7-year Anejo Especial version, although the packaging and bottle would suggest otherwise.

All-in-all, a very good rum, not the Cuba Libre variety.

είναι ενα Havana Club που θυμίζει ένα καλό ρούμι.έχει πολύ καλό συνδιασμό αρωμάτων και γέυσεων απλά σου τινάζει λίγο τα ρουθούνια το αλκόλ

Smoothness. Experts made this a masterpiece. Selected old rums blended and layered in selected oak casks. Tastefull, rich sugars. Little bit flat nose.
Unfortenatly not a very exciting rum
