Plantation Haiti XO Single Cask White Pineau Finish

Not your typical sipper but a rum with it's own character. Malaga icecream, oak wood and some rubber make this a pretty good one.

Smell is ok.
Taste is not good.
Aftertaste of burned rubber.

Cask n° 8. Very nice and smooth in the nose: Vanilla and strawberry. Plum and pine-apple on the tongue. And lots of wood. A combination that does not go together very well. All in all too sweet also. Tastes like headache in the morning, I'm afraid.

The funk on this is pretty nasty. It's pretty terrible, knowing that it comes from such a great distiller and at such a high price point. However, if you mix it with a lot of sugar and citrus you almost forget that you hate it.
