I am biased toward Flor de Cana. I just love their flavor profile. You really notice the molasses flavor accented by vanilla and caramel. Wisp of honey on the nose.

I actually prefer this over the 12y and the 18yr. I use the 5yr for a mixer and 7yr for a daily sipper.

Every day rum. No sweet flavored anda decente to drink straight.

My first sample of a Flor de cana, initial nose pleasant and familiar smells.. taste I found mild but the flavours did linger long which improved my rating of it. On the whole a fine rum that I could happily drink in a bar but unlikely to purchase again for the liquor cabinet.

There isn't really anything nice about this rum. It's slightly better than a well rum. The flavor doesn't mix well with anything and it's not good enough to drink straight.

Sampled at the Laka Lono Rum Club tasting on 8/29/18. Astringent almonds with plenty of unpleasant burn. Not much better than the 4 year for the price.

To me this is one of those rums that's more like whiskey, and I'm not a whiskey fan. The alcohol taste is overpowering, so I don't taste much in the way of other flavors. It has a strong burn. It's not undrinkable, but if I'm going to enjoy a rum neat there are a hundred I'd choose over this. I'm not big on rum cocktails, so maybe that's a better use of this rum. I was pretty disappointed at nearly $20/bottle, as there are many tastier and more drinkable options. I can see others enjoying it, but this style of rum is just not my thing.

This was my first Floor Dr Cana that I have tried and I am not too disappointed or thrilled. For a little less I would take Stades No. 8 or for the same price, the really McCoy or Plantation 5 year. This rum is a bit dry. Not overly sweet. Just nothing really standing out for me. Will probably not buy again when I know there are others in this price range that just have more to them than this rum. Solid 6 for sure.

Aroma is light with some vanilla.
Taste is just slightly sweet on beginning, after come oak and vanilla. Not very complex and aftertaste could be longer, but for fair price.

Good all around sipping rum that’s readily accessible and not all the expensive either.

Like others have said, not sweetened so you get some aged rum flavors without the sweetness.

Even if is a cheap one, it does not worth 6.5/10. I'm disappointed.
