Flor de Caña 12-Year

I'm with the group that doesn't get the high raters.
This rum shows nicely, bottle and color but that's where it ends.
The trend to woo whiskey drinkers by by aging in over burnt casks causes this rum to have a strong ashy flavor. The next morning it was like I was kissing an ashtray, I had to eat a half a tin of Altoids to over come it. When I think on the 25 they offer that is awesome, I can't understand why they would offer this.
I drink neat most of the time, I tired to save it by mixing down with sparkling water and lime but to no avail.

Rum lacked flavour or complexity. Seemed sharp and acerbic.

This is like matusalem 15 years, very harsh in the mouth, not, not good

Honestly, for a rum aged 12 years it is very harsh. At least the Jamaican rums have some flavor to compensate for the bite. This just burns with very little pay off.

Nearly odourless with a solvent like taste, very faint oak

Apparently a true 12yr but I don’t care this is dressed up garbage

Plantation hit the mark with this offering. The taste is complex without a very sweet taste.

Pas bon pentute, 56 $ CAD , je me suis faite avoir. Des fois on pense payer cher mais sa ne vaut pas cher. Gout tres puissant dans la gorge. Pas aimé.
