Bonne odeur sucrée, plutôt fort en bouche sur glace mais appréciable quand même. (env.25e)

Not the best by far, but value for money it's great.

Can be sipped, but easier with a mix.

Would buy again

I'm a bit surprised about the ratings. For me it's a really decent rum with good flavours of fruit/caramel. I drink it neat. My wife loves it with a bit of pineapple juice.

I use a lot of Jamaican Rums in my Tiki drinks. I like the Appleton 8 when they call for aged Jamaican rum.

Può andar bene per utilizzarlo in qualche cocktail

When it’s on sale for under $25, worth EVERY penny. Even decent sipper over ice.

There's no doubting the quality of this rum. However, I would say this blend has been designed with eye to encroach on the whiskey market. I think it's been aged in bourbon barrels and that characteristic shows in a pleasing way. I would definitely buy this again, especially as it makes a surprisingly good rum & coke, minus the lime. For sipping on a cold winter's night this is perfect but I can see why it might not fulfil everyones aged rum fantasy.
Highly recommended and the current rating (6.7) seems to reflect preference rather than quality.

was a decent rum but I think in my opinion I not had a Jamaican rum what's wow me so far I think Barbados rums are better than Jamaican rums in my opinion though maybe one day I will find a very good Jamaica rum

This is 2nd Appleton I have tried so of course I have to compare to the rare casks 12 year that I still have left. This 8 year reserve really holds its own against the rare casks. Both have nice deep amber color. Aroma for me was identical. I find that the 12 year rare casks just has a tiny bit more character and depth than the 8 year reserve. But the 8 year was about 30% cheaper. So yeah, the 12 year rare cask is slightly better but for the price the 8 year is a great value.

Had with coke and rum, was pleasant and smooth. No odd aftertastes

Acheté au hasard, je lui donne une bonne car sans être exceptionnel on sent qu'il a été bien travaillé. Donne envie d'en goûter un plus âgé.
