Real McCoy Limited Edition 2016 Bourbon & Madeira 12-Year

Virkelig god rom fra Barbados, der bare smager fantastisk.

I was finally able to get a bottle of this recently while in England since it’s impossible to find in the States and I’m happy to report it’s as great as I imagined. Each time I try it I pick up something new in the flavor profile. I really wished I bought more than one bottle!

Aroma is nice full of forest fruits. Taste is sweet (but no added sugar) with long and complex aftertaste. Very good rum.

Bought me 2*3cl sample of this great rum from a member in a Swedish rum group.
This Limited Edition of The Real McCoy, aged for 12 Years, are a blend of Pot and Column still rum. This version is released at ABV 46% instead of 40% for the original. Another difference compared to the original is that this Ltd Ed is a mix of rum aged in ex-bourbon casks (90%) and ex-Madeira casks (10%) while the original only were aged in ex-bourbon casks.
The nose is quite intense, floral and balanced with a little sweetness. I recognize vanilla, fruits, toffee and some hints of coconut.
In mouth and palate it’s still intense but also spicy and woody. I recognize pepper, ginger and a little bitterness.
The finish is rather long and spicy and I also recognize hints of citrus.
Overall a very intense, rich and well balanced rum.

even heavier molasses and syrup flavors up front than the 5, a long burn on the back. with a chew, it lights up the cheeks. less oily than the 5

Velice příjemný, dobře pitelný FQ. S nejlepšími rumy z této palírny soupeřit asi nemůže, ale doporučuji ochutnat.
