A sugar-free 18-year old, ultra premium rum that is sustainably produced (Carbon Neutral & Fair Trade certified). From a 5th generation family estate, it is naturally aged without artificial ingredients, distilled 100% with renewable energy and KOSHER certified. A full-bodied rum with a long and smooth finish that lingers in the palate. Best enjoyed neat or on a rock, with a peel of orange.

Don't get me wrong, it is a fine aged rum and if you do not like too much oak this is your guy. But then you should ask yourself: isn't it strange that this rum claims to be 18 years old and it is so light? Maybe not so honest. Also I did prefer it's younger brother the 12.
Bonus: they do care about sustainability and I hope more rum producers see them as an example.
Добър ром, но не и отличен. Липсва му дълбочината и характера на тези 18 години.
Bottiglia: voto 8.
Veramente bella e piacevole da impugnare.
Naso: voto 8.
Rather disappointed considering the age. For an 18-year-old, the taste is empty. The bottle has been standing half-open for a long time, and the hand does rather not tend to grab it. I'm between 6 and 7, but since it's a little better than 12 year old Cana, let it be 7.
Much better than the 12 yr. Make sure you let it sit about 25-30 minutes. I know it’s hard to do, but it is remarkably better if it breathes for a while. Excellent flavor and quite smooth.

Shot at bar.
Toffee, Caramel, Dark Chocolate, hazlenuts and a little touch of tobacco give a sweet but not overly cloying nose.
"It’s not overly sweet and retains a dryness which is particularly good on the finish."
Try to get a well lit shot from the front of the rum label

Flor de Cana are interesting rums in the fact they get worse the older they are. The extra dry is amazing for a white rum being super smooth and well bodied. Now something interesting happens as flor ages. It becomes harsher and more abusive to your pallet. Why or how I don't know but this rum isn't that good. There is nothing really eventful about it. Straight it shows to be just another one of those super dry oakey earthy rums that scolds your tongue with heat. In diet coke it is pretty good, it's not a bad rum per say it's just well not worth the price. If you enjoy this taste try Kirk and Sweeney, Mount Gay or any of the Ron Abuelo's. Those share similar tastes but exceed fdc-18. So final verdict is flor de Cana bad? No not really, but it's kind of generic earthy taste with a high price tag so if you're in the market for something exotic and different tasting this isn't your bottle.
