A sugar-free 18-year old, ultra premium rum that is sustainably produced (Carbon Neutral & Fair Trade certified). From a 5th generation family estate, it is naturally aged without artificial ingredients, distilled 100% with renewable energy and KOSHER certified. A full-bodied rum with a long and smooth finish that lingers in the palate. Best enjoyed neat or on a rock, with a peel of orange.

Jemná vůně karamelu, pražených oříšků, trocha vanilky. V chuti karamel, jemně vanilka a dřevo plus výraznější čokoláda. Takové to příjemné neutrální piti.
She's been my go-to for over 13yrs now both neat and mixed.
So many of my friends have come to love her as well. Very smooth.
Nothing special with this rum, but it’s well made enough to make people taste it to show them rum that does not taste like backwater.
The aroma is dominated by caramel, but there are hints of nuts, which are more pronounced in the taste. The "Sweetness" of the aroma would suggest a sweeter taste than it actually is, which is a positive surprise. Rather a mild burn; unfortunately the taste is relatively flat. It lacks the stunning (and surprising) finish that I have experienced when drinking the best rums (IMO).
One of my first sipping rums and I keep going back to it year after year--always have some tucked away in the back.
Some pineapples and a little banana on the nose. Tasting it is smooth with a strong vanilla flavor with some molasses. A short finish. I liked it.
This is a very good rum with a caramel smell and taste. A slight vanilla taste too. Very smooth and slow finish. It is an excellent rum but it is also very similar to the 12 year old version. It is smoother than the 12 year but not by much.
Based on the reviews here, I went to try this one. The expectation was great. The smell is pleasant and smooth. Alhocol is not smelled, but also no specific flavour. The taste was dry, a bit of cocoa butter and oak wood. No more flavour were recognized wich is a bit of shame. For 18 year rum I would expect more. Maybe just not my cup of rum.
Toffee, Caramel, Dark Chocolate, hazlenuts and a little touch of tobacco give a sweet but not overly cloying nose.
"It’s not overly sweet and retains a dryness which is particularly good on the finish."
Try to get a well lit shot from the front of the rum label

Flor de Cana are interesting rums in the fact they get worse the older they are. The extra dry is amazing for a white rum being super smooth and well bodied. Now something interesting happens as flor ages. It becomes harsher and more abusive to your pallet. Why or how I don't know but this rum isn't that good. There is nothing really eventful about it. Straight it shows to be just another one of those super dry oakey earthy rums that scolds your tongue with heat. In diet coke it is pretty good, it's not a bad rum per say it's just well not worth the price. If you enjoy this taste try Kirk and Sweeney, Mount Gay or any of the Ron Abuelo's. Those share similar tastes but exceed fdc-18. So final verdict is flor de Cana bad? No not really, but it's kind of generic earthy taste with a high price tag so if you're in the market for something exotic and different tasting this isn't your bottle.
