Espero XO

Much better than his younger 12y brother. Very smooth, sweet, hints of honey, fruits and spicy. Very good value for its price. I like this more than Diplomatico.

It reminds me of Malteco rums. Better than Malteco 10, but still not very special.
Too sweet for me, easy drinkable but not interesting.
I miss the Jamaica funk, the Guyana aromas are very weak, I think they got killed by the sugar and by Barbados (Foursquare) rum. I would say this is a sweet Foursquare rum. I think there was a point where this blend was great but the masterblender missed it.
If you like sweet rum you have my recommandation.

Artificially sweetened rum, drinkable but there are better sweet rums, a bit ethanolic.

Môj naobľúbenejši rum. chuťovo veľmi príjemný, málinko ostrejší avšak chuťovo aj sladší. Toto je moja voľba pri každodennom poháriku

A quite sweet smell, some honey, later on alcohol and vanilla. The taste is also sweet, honey and sugar, the body is creamy and oily.

Nice reddish oak in color. Smoky fruits and banana on the nose. Same smoky fruits are on the palate, plus some spices, citrus and honey with a hint of coconut. Really fullbodied and rich. Sweet and long aftertaste. I'm into bit sweeter rums, so this is right in my alley.

Too sweet and chemical taste, not talking about aftertaste. No complexity. Its is definitely not worth the money.

Okrem veľmi chutného kokosového likéru som od Espera doteraz skúšal len 12-ročnú Reservu Exclusiva. Nezaujala, bola prechutená umelou vanilkou. V cene Diplomatica RE je možné obstarať najvyššie nasadený drink, XO-čko. Je už výrazne tmavšej, takmer gaštanovej farby, vôňa je komplexná, zaujímavá, hoci trochu štipľavá s etanolovým podmazom. Chuťovo sa jedná o sladší rum, čo je vzhľadom k zameraniu destilérky Michler na likéry pochopiteľné. Celkom prvý dojem z chuti bol fajn, veľmi pripomenul Diplomatico, prípadne 15-ročné Autentico Nativo. Karamel, prezreté ovocné tóny, kokos, sherry...snáď aj nejaké kvety. Postupne som však stále intenzívnejšie zaznamenával na pozadí umelú pachuť vanilky, stále viac etanolu a v závere miernu vyštípanosť úst. To je znamenie prehnaného dochucovania, vyššie spomenuté značky toto zvládajú lepšie. Každopádne nejde o zlý rum, v priamom porovnaní s 12-ročnou RE je bez debaty na vyššej úrovni. Za rovnakú cenu sa však dajú zohnať chutnejšie kúsky. Subjektívny rating poctivých 7.
