Total wine had this on an employee pick. I was disappointed from the get go. Too much like maple syrup.
An average oak and spicy rum with believable cognac background and somewhat dull, boring "ethanolish" nose. One of the below-average rums for its price tag. The cask has been here for nearly 10 months to finish and I didn't like it even a tad better in the end compared to very beginning. I really don't feel like buying any more "Pasadors". It's weak, dull, expensive, generic and not very tasty; a mixer qualities.
El Pasador de Oro Rum sells for $69 CAD in my area (SAQ). While I knew practically nothing about this Rum at the time of purchase, the presentation and packaging were too attractive to pass up. This mahogany coloured Rum is extremely smooth and leaves no burn whatsoever. My only criticism would be the sweetness level of the rum which at 16 gsl is much sweeter than my own preference. Nevertheless this is a great Rum, specially if you tend to like sweeter Rums.

It eludes my mind how rum without any qualities can make it to almost 8. I guess a cool name and packaging. Nose and taste: remotely reminiscent of rum.
