Deep copper, almost brown color. Nose is dried fruits, spice, orange peel, caramel, and wood. Taste confirms with lots of spice, dried orange peel, but also surprising amount of pleasant oxidative notes from the sherry, finish is full of tannin-y oak character with a touch of smoke. Body is fairly light, but coating and the finish is dry and long lasting. A nice sipper and pretty easy going for 102 Proof, just a tease of heat in the aftertaste.
Yet another that I tried at Cane & Table in New Orleans. I guess that night was the highlight of the trip for me!
It was one of my favorites of the night. Pretty dry, a bit of fruit, a bit of alcohol burn on the finish. It is cask strength, so no surprise. Great sipper neat or on ice. It is further aged and bottled in Spain with rum sourced in the Caribbean.
Try to get a well lit shot from the front of the rum label

I had the pleasure of trying this small batch rum at a tasting and it was very interesting. It's from Spain and is made with Sherry cask. I honestly couldn't detect all of the different scents in the nose but it was still pleasant. The only thing keeping me from ordering it again is its high price and limited availability.
