El Dorado Special Reserve 15-Year

Almost perfect, but can't give this more than 8 when you compare it with its older brother, the 21 year old El Dorado. Simply amazing and for the price it does not get much better than this!

Consistent and tasty, quite a balanced one, not very sugary or alcoholic, a bit oaky and vanilla-ted. 7.5 pts now.

Got this as a bday gift axwhe back and now decided to crack her open.
First smell was cocoa, my son said coffee and wife said caramel. All not wrong. Great on the nose. Nice dark caramel color.
First taste was amazing just to hold it for a moment and take it all in. Once it goes down, no burn, just a good feeling.
Can’t wait to try some of their others to compare.

Nice sweet whisky like flavour. Nice amber colour and a good rum

Vůně: pečené citrusové ovoce, trocha vanilky, koření.
Chuť: Ovocně lehce sladkokyselá přecházející do čokoládové, až lehce tabákové.
Dochuť: Čokoládově dubová, delší.
Celkově je rum po všech stránkách bohatší a méně sladký než 12-ti letá verze.

I like the 12, but it is sweet and tastes flavoured, and the 21 is very refined, but almost boring. The 15 is the best balanced of the three, and definitely gets my recommendation out of the el Dorado range

Not too sweet. Kind of a strange licorice flavor on the back end. For me, there are better rums in this price range.

This is one of the best rums to drink as a shot or with ice

It has a nice colour to it and a nose of woodyness. Not as sweet as other rums and the oakbarrel and dark chocklate stands out to me. Hints of fruitiness but mosty wood and almost the bitterness of dark chocklate. Very good, but not my favorite.

Easy drinking, lots of caramel and dried fruit. Its a fabulous sipper for the price and should feature on a lot more shelves.
