Will make a decent mixer, but as a sipper you'd wish you'd paid the extra few quid for El Dorado 12, which is the best of all the range, not including the 25 which I haven't tried.

I'd rather have 2 bottles of the 12 than 1 bottle of ED 21.

As you can tell, I'm going on about ED 12 because I should have just got another bottle instead of trying the 8.
After you drown it in coke you may as well be drinking Mount Gay Eclipse.

This is another "okay" rum, whiskey, rum, whiskey that has sugar added to it to taste more like rum. I think if El Dorado actually tried to make rum they'd be on to something.

I don't much care for mixed drinks anymore; but when I do, I either reach for this one or the Appleton reserve. I find this one goes good with pepsi

a very big difference with the 12-year-old but still excellent rum at a great price

Lambs Amber is my usual base mixing rum for rum and soda drinks. Most of my friends who are Cuba Libre drinkers are also Lambs Amber fans. Not being a fan of this drink myself I can't compare how E.D. 8 enhances the drink. I do however like it in a nice rum cocktail. For the price this is certainly a step up from a Lambs or Captain Morgan.

Makes a nice rum and coke. Easy to drink with a sweet caramel flavour. Not really any other flavours that really stand out, but easy to drink. Wouldn't drink this as a sipper, but good mixer.

Maybe it would not be a bad rum, if I had not tested El Dorado 12.

Hints of "Bananas Foster"...bananas, caramel and butterscotch.

A friend that doesn't really have much experience buying "fancy" rum, bought this as a holiday gift. I opened it up one night planning on making drinks with it, as a mixer...however after a little bit of a taste, I went for rocks and was pleasantly surprised.

Velice dobry rum s bajecnym pomerem cena/vykon. Vune je krasne nasladla a ovocna, chut opet sladsi, rum je jemny, ale je citit trochu alkoholovy ocas. Vyborne piti, doporucuji.
