I was gifted this rum for Christmas. I was so excited to try it. However, i was disappointed for a few reasons.

My reasons:
1. Tastes like a fine Cognac
2. If you leave this rum in a glass, it naturally separates for the sugar that is added.

For the price, i could easily buy two botlles of Appleton 12 year and id be 200% more happy to drink it. Dont waste your time drinking this crap. Just buy a real Cognac.

Not what I was expecting after loving the 15 year

It's a much finer Rum lighter , thinner on the tongue and in the mouth But lovely you have to take your time to get to know this Rum. I'm in the early stages with this Rum even though I've had the bottle for over two years a gift from my Son
I only want to drink it when the mood is right for my special day tot !
Another great Product from EL Dorado make sure you try it one day

I own a bottle and only rate what I have bought

A great rum! I like it better after it opens over some ice for a couple minutes. More syrupy than some other rum varieties. I can appreciate the age factor of the blend but there are some other rums that are about half the price and just as tasty or better.

One of my favorite rums is the 15yr. This one is not as good , I'll stick to the 15

Boh in the nose and mouth reminds me of combination of apricot and peach. Dominant wooden tones. I was expecting something in style of El Dorado 12 y. but better and get something totally different more like Martell VSOP.

I’m not a big fan of this brand. The others I’ve tried in the past seem harsh and not to my taste. This bottle was given to me as a gift. Starting off the aroma isn’t the best. Has a medicine smell about it. There is a subtle sweet smell that gets better once the glass sits a bit. Overall this is much better than the others I’ve tried. Slightly sweet and smooth. The taste does linger a bit but overall a nice sipping rum.

I was very excited to try it since I really love the 15 - year. As much as it is a great Rum, I have to say that I am disappointed I expected something better for the price. I am not a big fan of the acidy level, too high for me. Also the length comes short and seems to binary in my opinion for this price range.

Less sweet than the 15 year old, oaky, spicy, peppery.

The initial flavour is rich and strong, this soon mellows into a pleasant Smokey oak.
