Guyana | Aged | 40% ABV | Pot and Column Still

El Dorado 12-Year Rum is composed of a blend of aged rums, all at least 12 years old. The rums are distilled using a combination of stills including coffey stills and a double wooden pot still before being aged in bourbon oak casks.

Demerara Distillers of Guyana produces El Dorado 12-year rum and is the country's last remaining distillery, with origins tracing back to 1670. The name ""El Dorado"" references the legendary city of gold that is said to be in the country's Rupununi region.

Initially there is sweet thick cut orange marmalade and spicy Christmas pudding. This is followed by cinnamon, vanilla, brown sugar and toffee. The taste has instant unfaltering sweetness with a little burn and a spice kick There is so much fruitiness to this rum. Orange, banana, apricot, peach and raisins. Sadly ruined by the fact that that it's sweetened

This is a beautiful dessert rum, boasting a warm and smooth feeling on the tongue and a decadent blend of sweet orange, molasses and brown sugar, juxtaposed next to the spice of an oak barrel and the baking spice demeraras possess. I love relaxing after dinner with this Caribbean beauty.

Super smooth, well balanced, on the sweeter side but not too much. Well recommended for anyone who likes rum as this represents premium rum feeling for a very good price.

i have an affinity to sweet rums, and this just appeals a bit more to me over the 15-year. It feels a bit more lively and fresh.

Not tasting the fruitiness other reviewers noted. Nice and smooth with a little oak and caramel. Good price for the sipping.

I pick up a vanilla front, follow by a fruitiness and ending with brown sugar on the nose. A little heat followed by the same Vanilla and fruity flavors afterward.

Vůně: dřevo, ovoce, karamel, tabák
Chuť: velice výrazný dubový sud, tropické ovoce, kůže a pomerančová kůra.
Trošku štípne na konci. Suchý pořádný rum. Ulpně se vidím na pirátské lodi :D
7,5!

A great introduction to premium rum. This rum was my introduction to premium rums and it did a perfect job. It's quite sweet (you can tell sugar was added), but not too sweet that you'll want to have another glass. You'll taste vanilla, brown sugar, hints of banana or orange peel with the slightest taste of oak and wood spices. Great on the deck with a cigar.
