I'm having trouble finishing off my 1.75L of this stuff. It has a horrible metallic finish and aftertaste even when mixed. Starts good and smooth but what it ends with does not make one want to take another sip.

Why they have even made this?!?!? Pass years I have had this feeling that the quality of Appleton has gone down. Even their 12-years old does not taste as it used to.
I was expecting little more when I decided to taste these "relatively new ones" Signature and Estate Reserve Blend. Same crap both of them.

Horrible smell, bad taste, really rough on tongue, also in neck. No specific flavours, no reason to drink.

As I read other reviews I have one impression: either every user has quite different taste or every bottle of this rum contains different blend.
Mine was all vanilla. A lot of vanilla. And I do not like vanilla rums much. Also, it was rather โ€ždisharmonicโ€œ. And โ€žbitter-sweetโ€œ - which, stand alone might be a good thing. But not in this case.
So, huge dissapointment. I'll never buy this rum again.

A rum with a light color, although the taste is really nippling the tongue. Not really sweet, did not actually enjoyed it but I can imagine to use it for some cocktails except the twist on old fashioned, tastes still too strong.

Very very and once again very bad rum. Strong alcohol taste ... nothing for me.
Received again as a gift :) Maybe good for mixed drinks or with Coke, of course on the rocks!

La nueva fรณrmula sabe a pintura, normalmente mezclo este ron, es mejor comprar el VX lo puedes identificar en la etiqueta al frente, no comprar el que dice 1749

Borderline undrinkable for me, I know this is the cheap of the cheap, but has put me off trying anything of more value in the Appleton range.

In seek of jamaican mixing rum i tried this one and gave away the bottle in the middle.
It's like a trace of fruit and butterscotch flavores on your nose, but after you take a sip a 151 bacardi gasoline overwhealms your mouth. Tried to mix it in my mai tai... but regreted because gasoline feeling have killed all enjoy from the cocktail.

Always heard good things about Appleton. But I have to say this rum is trash. Horrible taste and has a small to match. It is ok as a mixer if you please. However for the price you can get a better rum for cheaper when it come to mixing.
