Dos Maderas PX 5 + 5 rum is made from a combination of rums from Barbados and Guyana. It is unique becuase of its triple ageding process where for 5 initial years the rum is aged in the Carribean in oak casks. Next PX 5 + 5 is aged in Spain for 5 years in sherry casks, and lastly for 2 more years in even older sherry casks.
The Dos Maderas family of rums are produced by Bodegas Williams & Humbert, which is a well known Spanish winery founded by Sir Alexander Williams in the late 1800s. The region of Spain where the winery is located has a climate perfectly suited for wine and is known as Europe's wine cellar.

sehr gut, eher mild und süß mit einer fruchtigen Note
Solid vanilla rum with smoked body and after taste. A good choice between everyday rum and a special one.
I'm a sucker for smooth rums, sherry finish makes it smooth and sweet at the same time. Not too expensive as well so an excellent bottle to buy.
Canny. Smooth. Nice flavour. No real burn. Could drink another!
Tento rum obdržel mnoho ocenění v soutěžích a jistě právem. Výborný rum se spoustou chuťových okamžiků. Z rumu je poznat karamel, med, rozinky, sušené ovoce, vanilka a hlavně cherry. Má skutečně bohatý dlouhotrvající závěr.
If you prefer naked, honest rums, barrel-aged and typical : don't read further.
If you are open for experiments, try this PX 5+5. It's really sweet and fruity and I couldn't stop to drink. Sweetness comes from Marzipan and I love Marzipan. Unfortunately I can't define the fruits. I cannot really identify sherry notes or other. Let's leave it as a sweet fruit salad. Unfortunately with a really short finish. So drink a lot that the finish never ends.
Price : I bought 2 bottles for 30 Euros each and that is absolute okay.
Rate : just a 7 because it's really good drinkable but it's only a half rum and not so good as Plantation XO that I gave an 8.
Update on 04/13/23 :
minus 1 point for too much sugar and less alcohol than labeled
Rich, plump raisins dominate the palate.
"Quite drying on the palate so the mid palate. A slight oakiness and a little touch of the oak barrel."
Try to get a well lit shot from the front of the rum label

A fine rum from Barbados, triple aged, first 5 years in Caribbean and last 5 years in Spain in Sherry casks.
To the nose it isn’t anything particular, even though it is notable that it doesn’t exhale a strong alcohol smell.
Moving beyond, it is a nice turnover since to the palate results way better that to the nose. Giving it some time to open you can feel a strong sugary taste of fig, and of ripe fruit. Point is this is a value but also it’s limit…
The sugary flavor is in fact very heavy, and makes definitely noticeable that this rum is made from molasses. Not a discovery obviously but still an “unpleasant” feeling.
Finally, the sugary taste is persistent but the overall flavor doesn’t last for long.
A fine rum, for its value.
