Dos Maderas PX 5 + 5 rum is made from a combination of rums from Barbados and Guyana. It is unique becuase of its triple ageding process where for 5 initial years the rum is aged in the Carribean in oak casks. Next PX 5 + 5 is aged in Spain for 5 years in sherry casks, and lastly for 2 more years in even older sherry casks.
The Dos Maderas family of rums are produced by Bodegas Williams & Humbert, which is a well known Spanish winery founded by Sir Alexander Williams in the late 1800s. The region of Spain where the winery is located has a climate perfectly suited for wine and is known as Europe's wine cellar.

Neat - very good, strong and smokey. In cocktails can't feel the smoke, just a little bit sweet. Nice rum, tasty
8:On the nose... quite a lot. There's fruit: fresh grapes, banana, peaches, candied prunes and nuts, followed by almonds after a while. The barrel is there too, offering well-balanced oak and tobacco notes. Overall, it offers an interestingly dry, gourmand impression.
8:On the palate, we find tobacco and walnut, with candied fruit also present but a little in the background. The whole is soft, but well-balanced with alcohol.
8:The finish is long. The aromas of tobacco, walnuts, prunes and oak, which we enjoyed earlier, are again present.
Nice smooth finish. Flavor is pleasant start to finish, not very complex. A little on the sweet side.
Különleges rum, kicsit édeskés, nagyon érződik a sherry hordós érlelés,
ez az egyik kedvenc rumom.
Picking up date on the backend, it does burn the nose some.
It was my first rum what i drink. Unique rum aged in both the Caribbean and Spain, offering rich flavors of dried fruits, caramel, and oak. Smooth finish.
Rich, plump raisins dominate the palate.
"Quite drying on the palate so the mid palate. A slight oakiness and a little touch of the oak barrel."
Try to get a well lit shot from the front of the rum label

Very nice, rich notes and a bit of sweetness. Got to try this at a local rum tasting. I honestly didn't know this was a Barbados blend until writing this, but that makes sense. A step up from the 5+3 rum. Also, I'm clearly a sucker for the sherry cask finish.
