Diplomatico Reserva Exclusiva rum is distilled from molasses in copper pot stills and then aged in small oak casks for on average 12 years before being bottled.
Produced in Venezuela, which has a rich rum history dating to 1896, the Diplomatico Reserva Exclusiva distillery is located on the northern slopes of the Andes mountains.

The best rum I've ever tasted. Balanced in all respects. Smooth. Surprised. Very good. I recommend.

Very smooth rum and good day to day rum. I had more expensive rum not as good as the Diplomatico.
A rum I could sip on for days. Smooth and plenty of sweetness with a slight smokey aftertaste.
I typically go for rums that are not too sweet. This was a good one, but would have been better at the end of dinner. It was really good, but really sweet.
Finished more then 10 of this bottles. One of the best in this pricerange

I Tasted this rum at first on A Holiday in Austria and it loved it straight away!
At first it gives some woody and caramel/vanilla smell! First taste give some fruity tones with a very slight burn, in the aftertaste there comes some oak and caramel flavour to it.
I became a fan of diplomatico, ist very accessible to get your friends understanding the joy of Rum!
This goes down very smoothly. One of the more commercial rums from diplomático (not rare) but great quality

Based on heureka, I was one of the first to buy this rum, because there was a lot of praise for it and it is still perhaps the best-selling in the Czech Republic after Plantation XO and is not missing in any bar. From the beginning, however, something artificial disturbed me in its aftertaste. I gave it 3 months, but even then nothing changed and he finally removed it from my collection forever.
Tento rum jsem na základě heureky koupil mezi prvními, protože na něj bylo spousta chvály a dosud je v ČR po Plantation XO snad nejprodávanější a nechybí v žádném baru. Od počátku mě v jeho dochuti ale něco umělého rušilo. Nechal jsem tomu 3 měsíce, ale ani potom jsem se k němu nevracel rád a ze své sbírky ho nakonec navždy vyřadil.
Sweet on the tongue, soft on the lips. A trip to heaven and back. No tasting notes for you, but I love drinking things on the sweeter and bitter side, and alongside some lovely brandy this is now in a decanter for my nightcap as a sipper after a heavy meal.

Aroma of warming alcohol and vanilla. Sweet on the nose. Vanilla forward, sweet but not cloying upfront. This is a medium bodied rum. The finish is a bit sweet but warmth and a slight bitterness lingers. Not as complex as I expected based on all the reviews. Easy sipping and good but a little simplistic to my palate. If you don't like sweet rums then I'd avoid but if you do then go for it! I'd give it a 7.5 but I rounded to 8. Definitely a crowd pleaser.
