Easy to find, very enjoyable, slightly sweet but the sweetness mostly dissippitates if you leave it in the glass a little while, very smooth and more-ish. Bottle is always too small ;-)

(edit: downgraded to a 7 as my tasting experiences and palette have developed over time)

Tasted at Laka Lono on 5/5/21. Bourbon notes to the aroma- fruity candy and honey. Smooth smokiness with a mild pepper finish. Sweet up front , but also plenty of chocolate. A good looking rum that is a deep dark brown color. Delicious.

A food rum for sipping. Wouldn't mix it in anything. Some ice is the only thing that would go with a rum like this. Basically treat it like a whiskey. Not bad for the price.

Very sweet and tasty rum without annoying smell of alcohol. From my point of view this one is very suitable as a gift, because of its non agressive taste, nice aroma and representative bottle. Very good choice as an invitation to the world of rums for beginners. Just try it and make your own opinion.

I can definitely see why people call this a rum liquor. It's very sweet and because of all that sugar most people probably find it easier to sip. Myself included. I see a lot of people count that as a strike against this rum but I can't say I mind much.

In addition to the sweetness there is a decent amount of character in this rum. Not a ton of barrel spice but strong vanilla up front. The nose is a bit ethanol. The taste to me is basic rum, or my idea of rum. The sweetness essentially feels like a rum cocktail just in the bottle. If you're a cocktail fan like myself, this is kind of a great option on the go.

I would also be fine suggesting this to someone new to trying a rum neat as it is not intimidating. If people are opposed to sugar then definitely avoid this rum.

Update: After having more no sugar added rums like The Real McCoy 12 I've bumped this down to a 7.

Super sweet in taste. It's more liqueur than it is rum. After a little research I find out that 20 grams of sugar is added per liter and addition of color additive. Added sugar and color addition fall just within EU rules (20 gram suger max). Perhaps this rum tastes sweeter outside the EU?. Despite this, it tastes okay. But my grades are low because I think this is cheating.

Update: Apparently, I drank an older bottle that contained about 38 grams of sugar. The new one should taste better and less sweet. I will try this one out soon.

Update 2: the ''18 grams added sugar edition'' is significantly less sweet but the flavours are almost the same. Personally, I like this rum even better now. upgrade to a 7

A smooth rum with good flavor and reminds me a little of a brandy.

First impression is the aroma and I swear I caught a whiff of jagermeister which put me off before I even tasted it. Then I was put off again with the hint of licorice and syrupy sweetness. I really think they are adding jagermeister to this rum. Added ice and things improved for sure but not enough. It is an interesting rum but not in a good way for me. This Jagerum will be sitting and collecting dust. Nice bottle though.

A well done blend of rums but a little bit more sweet than my preferences.. good to start knowing premium rums and in good price!
