Diplomatico Reserva Exclusiva rum is distilled from molasses in copper pot stills and then aged in small oak casks for on average 12 years before being bottled.
Produced in Venezuela, which has a rich rum history dating to 1896, the Diplomatico Reserva Exclusiva distillery is located on the northern slopes of the Andes mountains.

Very smooth and quite a sweet rum, it's many peoples favorite and it's the rum a get out the cabinet when I'm trying to entice a non rum drinker into rum. Bags of flavor for the money although I do feel it does tail off after a few sips. A rum collection isn't complete without a bottle of this!

This was my first rum when I got into trying sipping rums and I've yet to find one that beats it.

Excellent rhum, sa réputation n'est pas surfaite. Très riche au niveau des arômes. A posséder absolument.
After I decided never to drink white barcadi ever again, this was one of my first encounters with a proper rum. Just the right amount of spice/sweetness/warmth and temper, just like I prefer my women.

En rom med en frugtig duft og en imponerende fyldig smag, der udvikler sig godt for en rom i denne prisklasse. Der er en god overensstemmelse mellem duft og smag.
One of the better ones I've tasted, although I am somewhat new to this. Has a great nose and real depth without the heavy burn. In ordering this down in Miami, I sense some reluctance due to it's origins in Venezuela. Understandable but still a great rum.
This is rum is the champs of my list for a few years now. The smoothnest of the product set im appart. Well Balanced. The alcool taste is slightly noticable at the end but all you taste is delicious vanilla dark sugar and a little toast.

Aroma of warming alcohol and vanilla. Sweet on the nose. Vanilla forward, sweet but not cloying upfront. This is a medium bodied rum. The finish is a bit sweet but warmth and a slight bitterness lingers. Not as complex as I expected based on all the reviews. Easy sipping and good but a little simplistic to my palate. If you don't like sweet rums then I'd avoid but if you do then go for it! I'd give it a 7.5 but I rounded to 8. Definitely a crowd pleaser.
