Diplomatico Ambassador Selection is a limited edition rum crafted from 100% still pot rums and aged for a minimum of 12 years. Like its counterparts, the rum originates from Venezuela and is aged in ex-bourbon casks. The rum has a high strength and does not contain any sweeteners, caramel or other additives which means it does not require chill filtration.

Tastes of dates, honey, chocolate, and sherry. The sharpness of the bourbon can be found in the aftertaste, although it's not unwelcome with how sweet the initial taste is.
Add a little water to it, and you'll be relieved from the punch in the nose that is present at first and be introduced to some subtler trails in the journey that is this rum. I would personally drink the first half of your serving without water, and then add a little to the second half to lengthen the journey.
This rum was absolutely fantastic. A 9.5, only because I don't personally enjoy the sweetness as much. However, this is still one of the most complex and fine rums I've ever tasted.
