Mutch better than Dictador 12 , Coffee taste.Complex. Good rum
Ikke helt balanceret og har ikke så lang en eftersmag, men en god rom uden megen sødme
smooth and tasty, enjoyed it with a few cubes of ice and Pilsner chaser! 😁
Once again, after finishing a 12yo Dictador, i had another present of my wonderful wife. The bottle didn't last long either, just like the 15yo El Dorado. Its hard to find a better rum then this.Addionally, the bottle style of Dictador is the coolest i ever seen
Dictador 20-Year Rum er speciel alene på grund af, man ikke møder mange rom fra Columbia. Duft og smags noter bl.a. lidt honning.
Lidt frækt med en anderledes flaske.
Kompleks smag, lidt sødme, ok eftersmag.
Trying to save face for the reps, tried the 20 year after the 12. It is even worse! Couldn't even choke it down.
A rich, caramel and vanilla solera with interesting sweet wood notes. It has a very specific smooth to it that I haven't encountered with any other. I feel the average rating should be higher for this rum. Then again, this might be like the cilantro of rums. I'd say if you want to trying something a bit different, give it a shot. I was presently surprised.
There is a hint of tobacco and a touch of tar. Overall though its mostly sweet.
"It has a reasonable amount of alcohol burn to reassure you it is a 40% spirit. It’s more like a kind of sherried flavoured vodka. I’m sure such a drink exists somewhere."
Try to get a well lit shot from the front of the rum label

The Dictadors have changed. The new bottle (no solera) is different to my old impressions. It's more on the cocoa side, a completely different rum.
The old version has a lot of fermented fruits like Nine Leaves 2.
Now all Dictadors are more similar to each other than the old bottlings.
This rum has a recognition value (it's pot still + column still blend). It needs 30min in the glas until it opens the aromas.
The flavor profile is honey with cocoa and spices like pepper and nutmeg. It's not sweetened.
Unusual combination, that's why it has a unique taste.
The smell is a combination of vanilla, cocoa, spices and some wood. I can not clearly separate all flavors, but I enjoy this composition.
The taste starts with a little bit cocoa, then slightly a woody note (or call it paper) shows up followed by some vanilla. It's not watery but I noticed the dilution, it's thiner of course. I would prefer 45% I think. Then I got also some dry fruits and different spices like pepper and nutmeg. They are not very dominant, you get only some hints of them.
A good rum, not very complex but unique. Would rate it with 75 points.
