This rum and it's younger brother suddenly appeared at a Total Wine 50 miles away from me. After reading all of these reviews, I had my doubts about buying a bottle based upon a few references to Jack Daniels barrel aging. Then I found myself in that area and figured WTF, it's only $66 US. But both were in some very weird gift boxes with poorly made tops. I clipped out the main panels on this one and tried to enclose them here. Oh well.
No point in me stating notes as others have already repeated what is on the label. It is very smooth and slightly spicy. It started out as a high 7 in my book. Then after a few trials, it moved up into my middle 8 ratings. At more than $60, I always expect results like this and this one did not disappoint me. Somehow, the notes from the Jack Daniels barrels are barely discernible.
What can I say? To this day, I haven't tasted a better rum then this. Perfect balance. Vanilla, almonds, just enough sweetness
N: bananas, coconut, salted chocolate, not overly sweet but solid. T/F: sweet, but not too sweet, coffee and cinnamon join the vanilla/banana, but still a bit plasticky
I tried this side by side with the 8 year. Very similar, chocolate and bourbon, perhaps slightly more complex and woody... But similar enough it would be hard to recommend the more expensive expression. It's not that expensive, but I think most rum fans might prefer something else at this price point, and newbies might prefer the more straightforward 8 year.
Notes of cinnamon, tobacco, caramel, toffee, and the oak of the barrel. You get a little bit of bourbon at the end of the finish. Mildly complex, but very smooth. It has little burn but seems to well balanced. It is a worthy purchase.
Edit:
A few days after I first opened this bottle, the rumโs flavors became more prevalent. I donโt know if the bottle was cold and need to warm up but this rum is probably the best rum in my opinion under $100. Very smooth sipper, well balanced, and freaking delicious.
Parce has a very smooth taste, be it straight up or on the rocks. Goes great with a good smoke.
I very much enjoyed this rum. It wasnโt overly sweet but had a very distinctive flavor profile that lasted throughout. I got many notes of Carmel and chocolate like a Tootsie Roll. A great neat sipping rum if you like sweet and flavorful.
Very good and smooth. Best Columbian rum in my opinion.
Try to get a well lit shot from the front of the rum label

Parce is the smoothest liquor that's ever graced my cabinet. It smells amazing, like some kind of bakery combo cigar-factory. Notes of caramel and vanilla up front, and a woodsy, campfirey bit towards the end. It's a great choice for enjoying straight or on the rocks.
