A very smooth drink but definitely not worth the standard price point. Other options are better.
Dark bitter chocolate the moment the glass is placed on nose. Honey, dried lychee and toasted coconut with sour cherry compote.
Smokey thick molasses aroma with unripe cherry. A touch of over ripen papaya on the palate.
Finish with honey and sweet baking spices. Towards the end, good flavour of gula melaka with dry coconut (filings of kuih dadar, a local Malaysian pastry)
Ok, Angostura and me will not soon become great friends, but this one is quite nice and complex, a stand alone kind of rum, yet not my favorite, but taste is personal..
Sweet and smooth, without the extras. Totally ok for sipping
Not a great nose, beside no length in mouth. ery deceiving compared to the 1919 !
Nice nose with caramel but a bit too much wood. Good colour on the pour. Didn’t like the taste and a bit too much burn for my liking. Too much oak, tobacco and burnt tastes for my liking.
'mouth-watering flavours of honey, fruit, chocolate'

Too much wood and too much spices for me. Oak feels very strong, some honey and spices. Not one of the smoothest rums.
