Opthimus Malt Whisky Finish 25-Year

Opthimus, Markant sødme, nougat smelter på i tungen, meget fed og fyldig rom. Krydderi fra malt whiskyen. Eftersmag: Lang, fyldig eftersmag.

I have the 15 year and while it’s nice, it leaves a bit to be desired.

The 25 year malt whiskey finish is exceptional.

Slightly sweet and spicy, the burn starts the instant you take a sip.

The nose and taste are slightly vanilla forward, but offset by the oak and malt whiskey notes.

The finish is dry like whisky with a lingering sweetness that’s quite nice.

Intense experience every time I drink it.
Easily in my top 5.

Es un ron con cuerpo, de aspecto ambarino oscuro algo turbio, el olor embriaga desde el principio, toque picante al principio y sedoso al tiempo de beber el tercer trago, con un final largo e intenso.
Cafe, cacao, clavo, madera.

Why did I wait so long to try. Nice bite on the tongue followed by a smooth velvety coating of vanilla, oak, buttery molasses with hint of orange. Ohh so good. Similar to Zacappa XO but a step up.

A beautiful nose of rumbarrel and chocolate, with a twist of malt. Very deliciuos.
A very delicate smooth taste with a looong aftertaste with whisky notes. Wow :-)

If you're into more complex rums, this indeed is an awesome choice. I can also recommend to try different vintages. The 2015 is much different than the 2013 for example. What an adventure!

Bought on the strength of the reviews here and wasn't disappointed. Initially quite sweet but mellows out after a taste or two. Can't say I can pick out anything particularly 'malt whiskey's barrel about it but very nice nonetheless

This rum is really smooth with no alcohol taste at all. The finish is longlasting and great with oak tones of the whiskey barrels. Even if the smell of the empty glass is very good. Definitely my favorite at this moment.

In the start it is soft due to the malt barrel, but 3 sec. later the burn kicks in :-)
