Gasoliney industrial cachaca, almost anything is better. Ypioca is about the same price and much better.
Podobná cachace 51, lehká, dala se pít i čistá, ale používal jsem ji spíše do koktejlů (místo bílého rumu).
PITU is as solid as any decent light Rum Agricole, Enough with the ugly Snobbery if you can't drink Rum straight better don't write hateful reviews.
In other words, i don't want to sound insulting, but i have no choice, people here who ranked Pitu Cachaca with 1-2-3-4 ranks are clueless, they could not even be pirates in their own baths where their rubber duckies swim. how Pitu Light is weaker or bland or worse than any top of the notch White Rum? i drink Cachaca straight, my liver drains half a bottle as if it was soft heavy water. yes, that one found in Nuclear reactors. Pitu is on par with 51 and with the better non aged young white rums i tasted. i am sorry but those below are not reviews worth reading for anyone who wants to know the joy of clear light white Rums, even if they're called Cachaca. it is great value for money, it is tastier on a family table than a premium Wodka (remember there is no V in wodka, i am polish, we drink much, but i don't like Wodka it is bland and non interesting hence i am writing here).
On the nose, not to much to tell about, hard to feel hints of vanilla blossom, it's easy to sniff too much and feel the drops in the nose. the meaning is it is very neatly distilled, it is almost aroma less as a vodka is, though that tropical fruity hint pops in the backgroun, i can't complain.
the big bang happens when it hits the tongue and flows inside the mouth, it has more body than some very aged solera reserves, yes, ironically tasted a 15 year old one with less body today, and NO you won't feel any sweetness of murky muddy Molasses here, as it is strictly distilled out of Sugar Cane. it has more of the taste of Sugar Cane juice you might encounter on the sides of the road squeezing the canes to produce a glass of refreshing strange (for me) drink. it is much better as a distillate i admit, and the distillate is on the highest of highest levels in the industry (compared to Wodka/Vodka) i drink half a liter of this and stay clear minded able to play chess and communicate fluently, this is a sign of expertise and artisanal crafting capabilities, the land or maze of Cachaca brands is very complicated but if brands such as Pitu and 51 are able to deliver such clarity i wonder what hides beneath the well known brands path?
Tongue: Vanilla, Cocoa nuts, and strong Lychees, true song of tropical heaven, there is no need to dilute it with anything, it is quite oily, and can linger if taken in the right doses, don't swallow it fast, let it release it's tropical secrets between the crack of your teeth, i swear you will feel wild raspberries, and mulberries, if i could wish my aromatic tropical scented sun screen blockers had a taste i would imagine something like that, perhaps mixed with malibu, but still... all those negative reviews just prove me these are not people who are able to drink. don't listen to them!
If no other Cachaca is available, then fine, but I won't buy this again.
When I discovered caipirinhas (which are basically a Brazilian version of a classic daiquiri), I sought a Cachaca but our local liquor stores had a very limited selection. I chose the Pitu. It wasn't awful but I think I was expecting more. Maybe a bit too burning. I found a liquor store not far from here that had four or five different choices, so I'll be checking them out.
Try to get a well lit shot from the front of the rum label

This Cachaca is fairly common in the US. Its really decent actually. It has a nice pungent fruity, floral aroma. The tasting is similar, its smooth on the palate with a nice classic taste, while not complex it does offer a great experience.
