It's not often one finds a rum that is almost undrinkable, maybe the australians have a different taste to the rest of the world....this is one to avoid, but they do have a lot of t'shirts!
golden in colour and thats the only good thing
I don't like it. It has an unpleasant chemical aftertaste, preceded by a chemical flavour, with unpleasant alcohol burn. Even cola can't mask the unpleasant chemical taste.
Worked with an Aussie Engineer that said this was what they drank in school and it was not pretty, albeit contrary to stereotype he was not a huge drinker.
Knowing I am a rum fan he brought me a bottle so that I could "truly gauge what bad is". He was correct. I drank the full bottle (not in one sitting) straight up out of respect for the fact that he hauled it from Australia to Canada.
I now proudly say "I survived Bundaberg".
This stuff tastes like tequila with food coloring added. Pour it down the drain.
I always sample a new rum neat. A mistake for this rum. While it has a nice colour, I could only think that someone had replaced the rum with some form of tequila. Its possible that a really strong fruit mix will make this palatable. Bundaberg Original UP has a home in my cabinet now as a benchmark for what the bottom of the rating scale is.
I would't run my car on this god forsaken swill. This is a domestic dispute aching to happen. Save yourself the family court drama and buy anything and I mean absolutely anything else instead.
The smell and taste, I had to ask the barman if he mistakenly given me disinfectant...truly awful.
This rum has the nose of vomit with the after-taste of vomit. I blame this drink for giving me the wrong impression of rum for a good 20 years until a mate introduced me to the pleasures of proper rum. Considering that Australia produces such good products across the board, this product is a massive blight on landscape of Australian quality products. Queensland can't produce good beers either.

Light golden color strange mix of floral notes with some spice and a kick, actual TKO kick. Not my idea of Rum, might induce vomiting and a healthy hangover.
