This is a well made rum. Lovely vanilla aroma. At 1st opening, the bourbon oak on the palate is quite pronounced. By 2nd round it mellows to the pleasant oakey notes you get from a fine Barbados rum. It's only sin is the fact it is distilled at Four Square. The natural thought is to compare to other Four Square rums. While this is a fine rum, it is plain vanilla relative to the others. If made at another distillery I'd give it 2 more stars.
Liked the history behind the brand. The rum was a straight forward rum, no real aftertaste nor flavour. Not a bad rum but not great either.
Very light nose, almost difficult to catch some aromas. Seems to be a young or a light rum.
The initial taste is watery and there are almost no aromas until the end of the middle taste.
I think this rum was diluted too much.
The aromas are very common, even without dilution it would be some kind of boring.
Smell: cocoa, burned sugar, wood, dry fruits, some earth
Taste: watery mouthfeel, some paper, vanilla
Middle: orange and wood
Finish: spice, some bitterness, young wood, cocoa
Sweetness: 1/5
Mildness: 3.5/5
Spice: 2/5
Fruit: 2/5
Complexity: 1.5/5
En meget afrundet og sød rom, der på samme tidspunkt også har lidt kant. Den mangler dog noget på eftersmagen efter min mening.
Perfectly acceptable but not memorable. A bit too sweet for my taste.
The taste was a little too whiskey-like for me. Since I don't drink whiskey this wasn't the right rum for me at the moment.
This rum is a learned taste. It is very good if you like whiksey, however I think it lacks a bit of sugar, as my prefered taste is a bit more to the sweet side. Would definately recommend
Mature tropical fruits, demerara sugar, oak and baking spices
"The Real McCoy 12-Year rum review by a Mountain of Crushed Ice"
Has some very Bourbon like sweet/sour like notes.
"It is rich, intense and quite spicy. Very oaky yet not overly dry."
Try to get a well lit shot from the front of the rum label
