Well balanced rum to sip or to make really delicious cocktails! Not to much sweetness and a bit harsh finish.
This is much better than their 5 year. It's a slightly darker amber color. Good notes of vanilla, and oak. It was best neat and cut with a little water.
This bottle is probably one of the best bottles that's probably readily available. A complex bottle with nice woody and spice notes that just changes in your mouth. Great rum to sip on make into simple cocktails, like a rum old fashioned that plays well with the rum.
This is a great rum right from Barabados. Most of my Rums I enjoy neat. This is no exception, very nice molasses and vanilla on the nose and similar on the tongue. I look forward to trying the 14 year if I can ever find it.
Nice color and vanilla flavor. Had never heard of this bought it because i hadn't tried it.
I was quite hesitant to try this one since I heard that it had heavy barrel influence and was on the drier side of the spectrum. I walked into a local liquor store last night and seen this little gem on sale for $37.99, apparently it was old stock that they were trying to move. I thought for that price i'd give it a try. I got home poured a glass and let it sit for around 15 minutes. The aroma pouring out of the glass was remarkable.Creme brulee, honey, coconut, leather, and tobacco. It is on the drier side and does have alot of cask influence but it's not overbearing at all. This has alot going on with it and I never got tired of drinking it after 5+ glasses. Great mouthfeel. This would suit a whiskey or bourbon drinker who wants to dive into rum. It has one of the most interesting finishes I've experienced in a long time. The more I drank it the more I enjoyed it. I ended up drinking half the bottle the night I purchased it.My only regret is I wish I had tried it sooner. This will likely replace El Dorado 12 yo as my daily sipper. 8.5/10

Beautiful light, rich amber in the glass.
Soft and velvety on the nose. A whole carpet full of caramelized flowers spreads and you pick the most beautiful of them. The wooden basket already filled with lots of tropical fruit and rubbed with vanilla pod marck lends itself to stow away.
Honest and direct on the palate. You pluck off the caramelized petals and let them melt on your tongue. The tropical fruits are candied and enhanced with vanilla. Wood, resin and tannins are present but in no way intrusive. Mmmm, you'll want to lick this basket out.
Caramel and fruit linger on the finish, wood and vanilla a bit longer and the tongue crumbles to dust.
A great Bajan rum that will certainly be a real treat in the summer. For Barbados fans, rum-without-sugar lovers, and all connoisseurs.

In the bourbon/scotch-like category, would get buried in cocktails and not overly complex, but a solid rum sipper. N: almost scotch-like, butter and oak. More subtle than most other rums. T/F: lighter spice and molasses, ends quite sweet. Not overly complex, but tasty. Toasted oak dominates.
Mature tropical fruits, demerara sugar, oak and baking spices
"The Real McCoy 12-Year rum review by a Mountain of Crushed Ice"
Has some very Bourbon like sweet/sour like notes.
"It is rich, intense and quite spicy. Very oaky yet not overly dry."
Try to get a well lit shot from the front of the rum label

Very nice, more so if you don't like real sweet rums. Lingering aftertaste is real pronounced. Hints of smoke, easy to drink. Will be putting this one in the rotation.
