Crystal clear in the glass.
In the nose present and yet not intrusive. A freshly burned sugar cane field, the sweet juice caramelizes on the stalks. Woods and candied fruits in vanilla sauce, a few roasted nuts add to the dimension.
The palate is soft and supple. The flavors delight the tongue and all the subtle nuances float balanced above. Fruits and sugar cane show their best moves. Caramel and vanilla sit on the jury. The fine ash, wafted from the field, is as fleeting as a dream.
Finishes like a Caribbean sunset. Fruits and caramel drag on the vanilla goes a bit earlier. A balmy summer evening lingers in the memory.
A great colorless rum for drinks, also to enjoy neat. For bartenders, explorers and beginners.

Decent flavor, with hints of vanilla and caramel, very light fruit. Fairly dry, a bit of heat and some bitterness, but fully tolerable. Not overly complex. Works very nicely as a mixer, does perfectly well in a Daiquiri. I do find it to be worth the price (sub $20). I do recommend trying it.
Very well balanced, creamy texture, and with subtle hints of fruit and vanilla. Mixes nicely as a daiquiri, and sips just fine on its own as well. Something tells me it might be good with some cola, but haven't tried it... For $18, no reason to complain.
Attended a tasting seminar for The Real McCoy at Cardiff Rum Festival on the weekend. Was incredibly well presented telling us of the provenance of the name being of Bill McCoy and rum running schooners.
This is a good quality flavoursome white aged in charred American oak for 3 years it's flavour is reminiscent of toasted coconut. Comparable to Flor de Cana 4 and El Dorado 3
A relatively neutral nose with subtle unripe fruits like pineapple and banana. Perhaps a little hint of coconut in there as well. The palate is light, delicious and refined with a hint of the fruity notes mentioned above. Leans towards the dry side but not in a tannic way. Great refined white, is you need something that doesn't stand out to much in your cocktail. Can be had neat as well.
I've been trying this for several weeks, and I just can't put it up there with my faves. I have to say there are many others of like, or better, tastes that are less expensive. Not much sweetness at all. For a sipper, I'm going to choose something golden or dark. This can mix well, but save a few dollars and choose another. If you want to focus on rums that have no additives, give it try, but even then . . .
The rum has a light aroma of fruit and subtle cane. Alcohol is smooth in the nose. The flavor straight up is a bit underwhelming. Nothing bad here just a bit light and one dimensional. Fruity character and warming alcohol. Not hot in my book. Smooth but not a lot of depth to my palate. Nice dry finish.
As a mixer it really does a nice job. Good flavor comes through in more simple cocktails calling for a lightly aged dry rum. I like this or the Flor de Cana 4 extra seco in lighter cocktails like daiquiri, Barbados rum punch, El Presidente and other similar drinks. A bit more character than a light Cuban style rum. A solid rum to have on the shelf and fairly priced.
Soft to the nose and not my idea of a sipper but like the way it mixed. Soft to the tounge but added to both coke and citrus. Have not blended it yet just tried at the bar but will probably add to my bar.
Finish is longer and more spicy.
"Quite heavy on the vanilla notes but has a little beef to it."
Try to get a well lit shot from the front of the rum label

Good mixer, nice flavors and works well as a well/standard white rum.
