La Hechicera Extra Anejo rum Is distilled using the solera method and aged between 12 and 21 years in American white oak casks.
La Hechicera rum has been produced by the The Riasco family for the past two decades. They're the only family-run Rum distillery in Colombia. The rum derives its name from the Spanish word “Hechicera” which translates to “enchantress”.

La Hechicera is a great rum with subtle smokey flavours. However this is not a smooth rum and burns on the way down.

Vynikajici rum s kavovou prichuti a celkem suchy. Pripomina trosicku Dictadora, jako takovou kolumbijskou skolu, jen je takovy zemitejsi mi prijde.

This is yet another rum that I will buy again. Great smell, fabulous flavours. Not thickened with sugars like my usual go to types. I would recommend this. A great sipping rum.

Til prisen er det egentlig et ganske fint glas. Ganske sød uden at være parfumeret. Ikke noget prangende, men billig og en fin begynder.
To start with a nice dark rich color, first smell from the bottle chocolate, sweet caramel and sugarcane aromas hit your nose, from the Bottle nearly no alcohol smell and Into the glass the alcohol is more noticeable but pleasant to the nose.
In my experience a cube of ice a little swirl of the glass and a 5 minute wait makes this a Excellent Rum.

The scent is oddly sweet for a rum with no added sugar but the taste reveals that he is one of this kind. The taste is rather light and unobtrusive. A great and honest light sipping rum with a spicy.

I had only one glass, not the whole bottle. However, the rum smellt nice, the after taste was a little bitter.

First smell, it is a bit weird. Very closed. But let it open for some minutes and it will give you amazing aromas, almost without alcohol.
The taste is fantastic. So balanced and so nice.

It's not quite Diplomatico but it's not far off - maybe not quite as smooth, not quite as sweet - but defintely has a character to it with a slight alcohol burn and a long lingering aftertaste of nicely roasted coffee. I have to say, a second bottle of this might see the rating go up a notch but for now it's good at 8/10.
(edit: downgraded to a 7 as my tasting experiences and palette have developed over time).
