Brugal Añejo rum

Brugal Añejo

Dominican Republic | Gold | 40% ABV

Brugal Anejo rum is a blend of rums aged 3 to 5 years in used American white Oak barrels that previously held whiskey and bourbon.

The rum is produced in the Dominican Republic by Brugal & Co., a company that was founded in the late 1800s by the Spaniard Andrés Brugal Montaner. Today, the Brugal rum company remains largely in the control of Montaner's direct descendants.

This one is a nice rum, but not satisfying for sipping. I find it better than most of Bacardi and Havana bottles, but I still think that if you’re a sipper you should find something more complex than Brugal. I’m not an expert of mixing, but I think this rum could be great in some cocktails that require a good rum

Although not too bad of a taste, also very much an occasional change to the go-to bottle

Tasted at Laka Lono on 2/20/22. Pours a dark gold color. A bit lackluster. Aroma seems more puerto rican than DR. Mold honey sweetness. Not much here. Boring.

Reminds me of Havana Club. Liked it more than Santiago de Cuba and 1888.
Dry, slightly smoky, easy drinking.
Bought it for peanuts in Lidl in Romania to drink round the campfire. I got no complaints

Not sweet, mixes better with cola and goes well with orange juice. There's nothing special about, what I like that it's not sweet and artificially vanilla flavored.
It delivers for it's price.

It's not bad but I can do better at the price. If I drank mixed drinks I'm sure this would work well. Only 38% now, I'm sure it used to be 40%.

Not so bad for such a young rum
Nose: strange, let breathe for a while. It gets better. Dry.
Palate: sweet but also a bit spicy, pleasant , with hints of caramel
